Staff Bios
Jonathan Kaye, President
Jonathan has a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and began his engineering career at Allied-Signal Aerospace-Kansas City Division in 1983 as a weapons senior engineer. He was responsible for the design, fabrication, maintenance, and operation of product verification and testing.
Jonathan was trained in quality assurance methods and operations for maximum results in the manufacturing arena. Providing high-quality solutions in military weapons laid his foundation for attention to detail and standardizing processes to insure repeatability and efficiencies.
Solutions Provider
Jonathan founded CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. in October of 1994 to provide micro-decontamination and critical cleaning of parts for semiconductor equipment manufacturers, solar, aerospace, automotive, medical, bio medical, optics, and electronic industries. His attention to customer service, development of partnerships, and engineering background laid the groundwork for CLEAN SCIENCES, INC.’s critical cleaning with same-day and 72-hour turnaround and door-to-door service.

- James Ziraldo, Operations Manager
James joined CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. in 1996 after serving 4 years in the US Navy. James quickly learned all aspects of the cleaning business and assisted the company’s fast growth from a start-up business. James was promoted to supervisor and was instrumental in developing CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. quick turn capabilities. In 2000, he was promoted to operations manager because of his leadership skills, extensive knowledge of our customers cleaning Specifications and his emphasis on consistent customer service with the industries demanding schedules and high-quality cleaning requirements. -
Dave Mortenson, Quality Manager and Director of Environmental Affairs
Dave joined CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. in 2005. He has been in the Cleaning and Metal Finishing business since 1982 and is known for his work with numerous local regulatory agencies in regards to Waste Treatment & Bay Area Air Quality. He is currently a member of the Union Sanitary Districts Industrial Advisory Council and owns several certificates from UC Santa Barbara for Waste Minimization.Dave has an extensive background in Quality Assurance Manufacturing, Process Controls and Operations which has been instrumental in upgrading CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. entire Quality Manual to meet our customers next generation of cleaning requirements. In 2023 Dave was the driving force in CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. gaining ISO 9001-2015 certification.
- Raquel Villaroman, Executive Assistant and Office Manager
Raquel joined CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. in 1996 as an executive assistant and office manager. She is responsible for all activities relating to payroll, human resources, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and customer service supporting tracking and order status. -
Oscar Zelaya, Process Control Consultant
Oscar has been a consultant with CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. since 2019. He was a facility supervisor at SLAC. He is responsible for providing CLEAN SCIENCES, INC.’s third-party confirmation for all bath titrations, completing maintenance and calibrations on all of our titration equipment and training staff how to use and maintain the equipment.Oscar has been instrumental in supporting our RO/DI systems and establishing protocols, calibrations schedules, and inspection parameters for continuous up time of key resources of cleaning water and process bath analysis.

Alex Cortez, Wet Line Supervisor and Production Planner
Alex joined CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. in 2007 and has 17 years of experience. He began working on the wet line and immediately showed a hard work ethic and a quick understanding of cleaning methods by material types. He was promoted to wet line supervisor in 2011 and is responsible for all customer parts from shipping and receiving thru the cleanroom dry line.Alex also was put in charge of maintaining key equipment from tanks, sealers, filters, ovens, to RO/DI water systems that are necessary to the operations on a daily basis. Alex also works closely with James and coordinates production schedules on a daily basis at CLEAN SCIENCES, INC., which helps drive our industry leading fast turn arounds.

Chanell Martinez, Cleanroom Supervisor
Chanell joined CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. in 2004. She has 20 years of experience working in all phases of our company’s operations from drying, detailing, inspection, to packaging. She was promoted to assistant cleanroom supervisor in 2018 and then to cleanroom supervisor in 2021. She helped run the cleanroom as we were doubling our sales for the company.Chanell helps train and work with all of the cleanroom staff and is super consistent keeping products moving through the cleanroom to meet our customers deadlines and CLEAN SCIENCES, INC.’s goals of zero non-conformances.

Elias Guzman, Cleanroom Supervisor
Elias joined CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. in 2010. He has 14 years of experience working all phases of the CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. operations from drying, detailing, inspection, and packaging. He was promoted to assistant cleanroom supervisor in 2018 and then to cleanroom supervisor in 2021.Elias helped oversee the cleanroom as we doubled the sales for the company. He is mainly driving the detailing of each part and final inspection to keep the quality at the highest levels. He has personally trained most of our team inspectors, dry line, and detailing specialist and continues to improve efficient methods in the cleanroom.
- Snehal Patel, Order Entry and Lab Manager
Snehal joined CLEAN SCIENCES, INC. in 2006 and has 18 years of experience. He helps support day-to-day customer service issues and order entry. As our lab manager, he is responsible for titrating, quality assurance testing, and SPC documentation of our cleaning processes baths per CLEAN SCIENCES, INC.’s ISO quality protocols and customers’ requirements.
